Welcome to the blog of our English Course in Torhout.

Sunday: day 1

Sunday it’s the first day of our English Course in Torhout. We’re looking forward to meeting all of our students and to spending an excellent week together! Believe us, it’ll be an incredible adventure. With one clear rule: we talk English always and everywhere!

Are you ready for the start of your week with Ruysschaert? You’ll find all the practical information about the English Course via the personal link you’ve received by email. Just to make sure:

  • We expect pupils to arrive between 10h30 and 11h30. On arrival you’ll receive the first practical information. Then you can take your luggage to your room and make yourself at home. If you still have time, feel free to get to know the other participants.
  • At noon the director warmly welcomes everybody, parents and pupils, to the opening session, explains the arrangements and calls out the pupils’ names so that they can join their class.
  • Then comes the official start of the course.
  • We start with the midday meal followed by the tests and the first lesson.

Monday: day 2

Yesterday, we were once again greeted by many cheerful faces at the start of a new English course. Yet behind some smiles, there was also some curiosity about how things work at TLA by Ruysschaert.

The spaghetti at lunch was already a hit, and the Berlin pastry during the afternoon snack was equally delicious.

Meanwhile, the students began getting to know one another and their teacher, while being immediately immersed in a rich mix of vocabulary, grammar and skills.
In the evening, the group played an icebreaker game, which also tested the knowledge they had gained during the tour of the institute.

Tuesday: day 3

Yesterday marked the students’ first full day dedicated to elevating their English language skills and knowledge. They eagerly embraced the learning materials provided and practiced with enthusiasm, demonstrating a true commitment to improvement.

In addition to their academic pursuits, there was plenty of opportunity for sports and recreational activities. After lunch, the excitement grew as the students kicked off an energetic volleyball competition, fostering teamwork and friendly competition.

We wrapped up the day with the ever-popular word games, which brought lots of fun and laughter to everyone. It was a fantastic day full of learning, activity, and camaraderie!

Wednesday: day 4

Another highly successful day for our students!
In addition to the engaging and enjoyable lessons, there was ample opportunity for sports and games during moments of relaxation. We also took great pleasure in the thoughtfully prepared culinary offerings.

The evening activity truly sparked the creativity of our students, resulting in a collection of artistic masterpieces — a delightful conclusion to an inspiring day.
 

Thursday: day 5

Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day with temperatures soaring to 24 degrees Celsius. Despite the warm weather, our students’ dedication and enthusiasm remained unwavering, and they continued to perform at an impressive level. The learning sessions were lively and productive, even as they were briefly interrupted by a much-anticipated visit to a local bowling alley, which was met with great excitement and enjoyment.
As the day drew to a close, we embraced the evening by taking on a variety of fun and challenging competitions, fostering teamwork, spirit, and friendly rivalry among everyone. It was a day filled with sunshine, perseverance, and memorable moments!

Friday: day 6

It wasn’t just any Thursday — it was a day that truly showcased the very best of our students. From outstanding academic achievements to impressive athletic and creative displays, the energy and enthusiasm were remarkable. The day culminated in a spectacular finale: the much-anticipated “Ruysschaert’s Got Talent Show” where students dazzled the audience with their unique skills and vibrant performances. Of course, no such day would be complete without the cherished tradition of the group photo — a moment to capture memories that will last a lifetime.
