Welcome to the blog of our English Course in Torhout.
Sunday: day 1
Sunday it’s the first day of our English Course in Torhout. We’re looking forward to meeting all of our students and to spending an excellent week together! Believe us, it’ll be an incredible adventure. With one clear rule: we talk English always and everywhere!
Are you ready for the start of your week with Ruysschaert? You’ll find all the practical information about the English Course via the personal link you’ve received by email. Just to make sure:
- We expect pupils to arrive between 10h30 and 11h30. On arrival you’ll receive the first practical information. Then you can take your luggage to your room and make yourself at home. If you still have time, feel free to get to know the other participants.
- At noon the director warmly welcomes everybody, parents and pupils, to the opening session, explains the arrangements and calls out the pupils’ names so that they can join their class.
- Then comes the official start of the course.
- We start with the midday meal followed by the tests and the first lesson.

Monday: day 2
Yesterday, our eager language learners arrived from all over. The energy was incredible as everyone settled in and quickly broke the ice with some fun welcome games and activities. Besides, students dove straight into their very first lessons, already practicing their new language skills with confidence. It has been a fantastic start to our journey, and we cannot wait to see what the rest of the week brings!
Tuesday: day 3
Day two was an absolute sun-kissed success! Our students made the most of the gorgeous, sunny weather today, bringing incredible energy to their lessons and already showing noticeable progress in their language skills. After a productive afternoon of learning, everyone enjoyed themselves at the Wonderful Word Games in the evening.
Wednesday: day 4
On Tuesday we continued our exploration of the English language. Our students adventured into the depths of grammar and vocabulary, but also pushed their limits in other areas. Our volleyball competition continued with a thrilling set of matches that left the teachers speechless, and several students took part in cooking workshops during the breaks. They were the envy of all when they finished their sessions with freshly made croissants and wraps. In the evening everyone took part in our games night. Across the campus we hosted several games and students vied for the top score!
Thursday: day 5
Day four was another bright and beautiful day of sunshine and big smiles! Today was extra special as we captured some fantastic memories with our class pictures, showing the wonderful bonds everyone has formed. The excitement carried right into a thrilling evening activity, where everyone teamed up for a fantastic Minions game. With only a few days left, the camp spirit is at an all-time high!
Friday: day 6
Thursday was again a sun-blissed day! Our students brought their A-game to lessons today, and the immense progress they’ve made since day one is truly something to celebrate. The excitement reached a fever pitch during our evening talent show, where students enjoyed themselves in the Talentshow. To top off a perfect day, everyone gathered to watch the thrilling first half of the France vs. Morocco World Cup match—the perfect high-energy finale as we head into our very last day!
