Welcome to the blog of our English Course in Rotselaar

Sunday it’s the first day of our English Course in Rotselaar. We’re looking forward to meeting all of our students and to spending an excellent week together! Believe us, it’ll be an incredible adventure. With one clear rule: we talk English always and everywhere!

Are you ready for the start of your week with Ruysschaert? You’ll find all the practical information about the English Course via the personal link you’ve received by email. Just to make sure:

  • We expect pupils to arrive between 10h30 and 11h30. On arrival you’ll receive the first practical information. Then you can take your luggage to your room and make yourself at home. If you still have time, feel free to get to know the other participants.
  • At noon the director warmly welcomes everybody, parents and pupils, to the opening session, explains the arrangements and calls out the pupils’ names so that they can join their class
  • Then comes the official start of the course.
  • We start with the midday meal followed by the tests and the first lesson.

See you soon!

PS: Are you curious to see how it all plans out on our language course? We post photos and videos on our Facebook & Instagrampage and our blog every day so that we can keep you up-to-date with our activities. We’ll post the first pictures from tomorrow! Follow us @ruysschaertlanguageacademy!

Sunday: day 1

The first day at Rotselaar, which started in a sunny fashion, unfortunately ended in a downpour, but that did not dampen the spirits of our students. Though there were some who felt a bit homesick on the first day, everybody managed to tough it out. Our first day is always evaluation day, which means that the students are asked to demonstrate their abilities so that our Language Academy can gauge their skills and their strengths and allocate the students accordingly. Finally, in the evening, they could release their tension with our sporty meeting games, all in great fun. We will keep you posted!

Monday: day 2

The first full day is now visible in our rearview mirror and as you can see in the pictures, it was an eventful day. The students had their first test, dictation, pronunciation exercises, grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading exercises, writing exercises, expressions and revision of irregular verbs. Can they deal with such an intense programme? Of course they can! Why? Because of our excellent team, encouragement and side activities to help them relax at intervals. Throw in a little singing as the final cherry on top and it’s clear that we have a recipe that works! But we are not only tooting our own horn, the students also do their best and try their hardest, and we appreciate them for it. On to the next!

Tuesday: day 3

The sun was out today, which caused the wide smiles to widen ever further, as you can see in the pictures. Some much needed vitamine D to recharge the body and the mind! This way, our students were fully prepared to tackle their lessons again. Roleplay, creative writing, grammar (all the conditionals in one session, wauw!). In the evening we even went on a trip around the world. What more is there to come to top this day, you may ask? Well, look forward to tomorrow dear parents because we are getting our class pictures taken and tomorrow evening is filled with all kinds of competitions. Who will emerge victorious?

Wednesday: day 4

As was announced, today was class picture day! The sun graced us with its presence in this beautiful Rotselaar setting, adding some more shine and lustre to all those smiling faces. Some teachers figured it was a good idea for some interaction outside and to try out new didactical methods to make the students learn and understand. I’m sure everyone involved liked it! That is the beauty of Ruysschaert Language Academy; thanks to our unique approach and intense follow-up, we are able to switch things up and teach in such a way that we merge both fun and learning in new and exciting ways. Add some study time into the mix and bob’s your uncle!

Thursday: day 5

As our last full day came to a close, we had our talent show. There was singing, dancing, piano playing and even some gymnastic routines. While the talents flexed their muscles, vocal chords and rhythmic ability, the show was complemented by quizzes, games and activities. The perfect ending to another exciting day full of English lessons!
