Welcome to the blog of our English Course in Maredsous

Sunday it’s the first day of our English Course in Maredsous. We’re looking forward to meeting all of our students and to spending an excellent week together! Believe us, it’ll be an incredible adventure. With one clear rule: we talk English always and everywhere!

Are you ready for the start of your week with Ruysschaert? You’ll find all the practical information about the English Course via the personal link you’ve received by email. Just to make sure:

  • We expect pupils to arrive between 10h30 and 11h30. On arrival you’ll receive the first practical information. Then you can take your luggage to your room and make yourself at home. If you still have time, feel free to get to know the other participants.
  • At noon the director warmly welcomes everybody, parents and pupils, to the opening session, explains the arrangements and calls out the pupils’ names so that they can join their class
  • Then comes the official start of the course.
  • We start with the midday meal followed by the tests and the first lesson.

Sunday: day one

As all of our students arrived at the school nestled beside the magnificent Maredsous Abbey, they were warmly welcomed by our team and began their exciting journey toward becoming true Anglophiles. Despite a few passing showers, they were instantly captivated by the breathtaking surroundings. With new friendships forming, fresh experiences awaiting, and a completely different environment to explore, the students embraced this new chapter with enthusiasm. Their attentiveness and positive energy have set the tone for what promises to be a truly remarkable week.

Monday: day two 

The first full day has come to a close, and the students have embraced it with enthusiasm and joy.
Between hearty servings of gratin dauphinois, bursts of laughter, spirited debates, and remarkably tall card castles, they are immersing themselves in the language with increasing confidence and curiosity.
Their infectious energy and eagerness to learn are truly breathing life into the course, creating a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere.
The word games pushed them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a fun and competitive context — and they seemed to relish every second of it!

Tuesday: day three

After an exhilarating volleyball competition, our group is starting to feel right at home — tackling every challenge with increasing confidence and enthusiasm.
As night fell, a delightful surprise awaited them: The Greatest Artists Game!
Laughter echoed, creativity flowed, and imaginations ran wild as everyone unleashed their inner artist.
This journey is only just beginning — and it’s clear they’re more than ready for whatever comes next!
 

Wednesday: day four

Today was a vibrant and exhilarating day at the academy!
Our students radiated energy, motivation, and an incredible sense of team spirit as they enthusiastically participated in a variety of thrilling competitions. It was truly inspiring to witness the camaraderie on display — classmates cheering each other on, celebrating successes, and embracing the joy of healthy competition in a warm and supportive atmosphere.

Beyond the athletic excitement, students also gathered for their annual class photos, capturing smiles, friendships, and cherished moments that will last a lifetime.

We are immensely proud of the passion and positivity our students bring to every aspect of academy life — both on the field and in the classroom!
